When your package arrives at the lab, it doesn’t head straight to film processing or scanning. Every order starts the same way.
One of our team members opens your package and compares everything inside with your order form. Rolls of film, negatives, prints, slides—whatever you sent, this is our first chance to make sure everything matches what you intended to send us.
From there, your order is checked into our system and paired with its paperwork before it ever reaches production. Once that’s done, it’s routed to the department that will be working on it, whether that’s film processing, scanning, printing, or restoration.
It’s a part of the process most people never see, but it’s one of the reasons we encourage customers to take a few extra minutes when packing up an order. A complete order form, secure packaging, and shipping early in the week all help your order arrive ready to move through the lab.
We’ll dive into each of those topics in future posts, but hopefully this gives you a little glimpse of what happens after your package arrives—and before the real work begins.
